As a high school junior in high school I thought that joining an international school was the best thing that could ever happen to me. I was excited because I thought I would have a better life than I did now. It was my dream to go to an international school, but what if I was ineligible? I had to find out.
After high school I went to college and it seemed like international school wasn’t as important to me as it was before. I thought that if I went to an international school that I would just be sending money back to my family. But once I graduated, I changed my mind. I wanted to finish my education. So, I applied to international schools all over again.
The first international school I went to was in England. I had a great time there. There were international students all the time, and the professors spoke English, which was a big plus. I loved my experience there. The next international school that I went to were in South Korea, and it was a South Korean university. international school around me
When I went to this international school, it was a bit more than I expected. There were international students, and many of them spoke English as a native language. I fell in love with this place very quickly.
After my experiences in high school and college, I am living my life in South Korea. My parents are American, and although my husband is Canadian, we have made it home. Because we are American, we have chosen to attend an international school right here in Korea. It’s been a challenge, but we’ve been fortunate.
We have been accepted into an excellent school, and the atmosphere is one of academic excellence, and high energy. I can honestly say that my college career was one of the best times of my life. All of my friends from Canada are also attending the school right here in Seoul. So I’m part of a club that brings North Americans and Canadians together, and we all really enjoy our time in Korea. When I graduated, I wanted to go right back to school around the world. But first I had to get an education. And when I decided to go back to school I wanted to make sure that I did so at an exceptional institution. After all, I had gone to so many great US schools and colleges, and now I wanted to go to a nation where not only did I receive a top quality education, but where the students speak English as their native language.
The choice to return to an international school was a tough one for me, but it was definitely the best decision I ever made. I met so many great people, and my husband even started a new business with us right near the beginning of our stay. It’s been a wonderful experience, and I think any person would be hard-pressed to choose a better experience than what I’ve found North Korea to provide.
